1. Describe an interesting neighbor
You should say:

Mr. Andrew John (…use one of your neighbor’s name…) is one of the neighbors whom I like very much. Since I live in an urban area, people are close to each other and maintain a strong neighborhood relationship, unlike the metropolitan area.
In our neighborhood, we know almost each and every person living there — what they do, their updates, their professions, and their overall personalities. Mr. John’s house is adjacent to ours and I meet him almost every day. He is a retired army officer, now around 50 years old. He lives alone, and I have never seen his relatives visiting him except for some old colleagues. Most of the time, he stays inside his house, and in the evening, he sits in the veranda reading.
I’ve had several conversations with him and often play chess with him. Our mutual love for reading was the first reason we bonded. Although he seems a bit arrogant at first, he is actually calm, intelligent, kind-hearted, and charming. He has traveled widely and has countless interesting stories to tell. Since becoming close, he often recommends me great books and gives me valuable advice. To me, he’s a friend, mentor, and sometimes even a guardian.

I’m going to talk about a happy childhood event that I remember — my 13th birthday. It was ten years ago now because I’m 23. My birthday is on the 7th of May.
My parents surprised me that morning, telling me we were going to a theme park a few hours away. I had never been there before, and I was thrilled because I had wanted to go for months. My brother, sister, and grandparents all joined us. It was a perfect family day.
The theme park was amazing. The huge roller coaster was scary but so much fun! I also remember the ghost train — my younger sister couldn’t join because she was too young and was very jealous. It was incredibly realistic, with people dressed up as ghosts jumping out unexpectedly.
I felt excited the whole day — exhilarated on the rides, scared but thrilled on the ghost train, and happy to be with my family. I remember it vividly because my dad was usually busy with work, so having everyone together was rare and special.

He was really excited because it’s his favorite place. We played on the swings, climbed structures, and laughed a lot. Peter loved playing rough with my boyfriend, and watching them was adorable — like two kids together!
After the park, we went for ice cream, then took him home before his parents returned. He was overjoyed to see them and couldn’t stop talking about our adventure. I truly adore him and always look forward to spending time with him again.

Even though Ho Chi Minh City has many impressive historical places, one of the most famous is Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral — a must-visit landmark in the heart of the city.
Located in District 1, surrounded by modern high-rise buildings, this cathedral was built by French colonists in the late 1800s. All its materials were imported from France. Despite its age, it has stood the test of time and remains one of the best-preserved colonial structures in Vietnam.
To many Saigonese, this cathedral holds deep emotional value, symbolizing peace and endurance through war and change. I often visit it to relax and take photos. Its grand architecture gives me a nostalgic feeling, as though time stands still.
When the weather is cool and breezy, I love sitting nearby with friends, chatting over coffee and watching the bustling streets. It’s a place that embodies both history and modern life, and one that I will always treasure.
