What kinds of things can young people learn from old people?
The first lesson that the youngsters can learn from the older is patriotism. Older generations are so proud of their country that they can sacrifice themselves for national independence. I’d say that they are eager to devote their entire lives to fighting for the freedom of their countries. Besides, while young people are too dependent on technology, old people can live without smart devices but still enjoy their lives.

I suppose that when old people are no longer healthy enough to work, they should retire with their pension package.

In my opinion, doing exercise on a regular basis and having healthy meals are the keys for the elderly to be in good health. Exercising every morning can significantly reduce the risk of some diseases like obesity and respiratory diseases. Besides, eating healthy food like carrots, tomatoes can prevent old people from having an upset stomach.

Who he/she is – How you knew him/her
She is one of my best friends. Her name is Tien but I usually call her Harley, her English name because she used to study abroad. We have been close friends for nearly 5 years. After a long time being her friend, I came to realize that she is the most polite person that I’ve ever met.
What he/she is like
I really treasure my friend, Harley. She is really great. She is like my partner in crime and we can share everything. I treat her as a member of my family and I never keep secrets from her. I cannot even remember the last time we had a quarrel because we always get along with each other. When she was studying abroad, we still kept in touch by calling each other on Messenger almost everyday. We could talk for hours on end. I am really grateful because she is always there for me. Whenever I struggle with my personal life, she cheers me up, gives me a lot of useful advice and lets me lean on her. I’d say that she is the biggest cheerleader of my life.
Why you think he/she is polite
I’ve learnt a lot from her, not only her positive attitude but also her kindness and politeness. Let me take an example. When our team has an argument, she is always patient and listens to other teammate’s opinions because she says that cutting someone short when others are talking is impolite. Besides, even though she is upset, she still puts herself in other people’s shoes to understand and avoid hurting their feelings. 5 years being her friend, she has never said bad words even in the heat of the moment. Finally, whenever someone asks her to help them, she never complains but gives them her support without any hesitation. There is no room for doubt that she is a very polite person. Due to her politeness, she receives a lot of love and heart-warming reactions from other people. Sometimes, when I ask her why she is so polite with other people, even strangers, she explains that she just wants to become a person like her mother – a woman of courtesy.

Who this person is – How you knew this person
A friend of mine at college is notorious for his eccentric clothes. His name is Phong but my classmates usually call him Bob because he graduated from a high school in the United States. On the first day I saw him, I was really impressed not only by his appearance but also his clothes. Let me tell you more about him.
What his/her clothes are like
I’d say that his hair is a mess. His eye circles are terribly dark. I guess that he hadn’t slept for a month. He always dozes and yawns during most lectures, which makes me a little bit annoyed. However, I am always amazed at the way he chooses outfits to go to school. Although my university doesn’t require students to wear uniforms when going to school, polite clothes which are suitable for the educational environment are highly recommended. For example, girls should wear long skirts with T-shirts and boys should wear jeans with shirts. However, Bob never obeys it. Whenever he goes to school, he wears a pijama with a wide range of colors and it has some unique shapes on it. He wears it in both summer and winter. In summer, he wears pajamas with cool and light fabric and in winter he wears cotton pajamas. They have very colorful colors like red, orange, purple and some weird shapes like unicorns or monsters.
Explain why you think his/her clothes are unusual
My lecturer asked him once the reason why he dressed that way, and he said that he was familiar with the US lifestyle which encouraged people to live and wear in the way they want. My lecturer agreed with him and said that we should respect diversities and differences. Even though his clothes used to hit me between the eyes, I am no longer judgmental about his style.
