Strengthening control of Covid-19 pandemic via air-route
The Ministry of Transport has just issued the requested document to strengthen the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic and control of passengers returning from high-risk areas by air-line.
"The document signed by Deputy Minister of Transport Le Anh Tuan to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, airports, airlines and airport authorities clearly states: ""According to preliminary statistics of the Ministry of Health, from 7th October to 3rd November 2021, there were 405,000 citizens moving from pandemic areas to localities, of which 382,000 people were sampled and tested, 7,700 people got positive result (accounting for 2%). ""
In order to strengthen control of people returning from southern areas (especially from Ho Chi Minh, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Long An and localities with high number of cases) via air-route, the Ministry Transport requested the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to continue directing units working at airports, airport authorities and airlines to strictly implement anti-pandemic measure as the 5K requirements of the Ministry of Health.
Strengthen control of passengers traveling from Tan Son Nhat and Can Tho airports to other localities; Ensure 100% of air passengers make a full medical declaration on the PC-Covid application and check the medical declaration strictly, and promptly notify the list of passengers to the localities.
At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen forms of propaganda and advice to passengers when returning to localities: it is mandatory to make honest medical declarations, to be responsible under the law for the declared information to classify specific groups of people such as Minimize contact with others and self-monitor their health at home or place of residence for 14 days since the date of arrival and receiving testing result for SARS-CoV-2 (according to the instructions of the local Department of Health) for people returning from provinces with a high number of cases to limit the risk of infection to the community.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam needs to regularly inspect or direct the airport authorities to strengthen inspection work and report on the implementation of the instructions and directions of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Transport in the anti-pandemic measure during organizing passenger transport by air-line.
